Interesting Facts and Information About Programming Languages

Please Read This 👇🏾

Programming is key part of Computer Science. Without programming we cant imagine today's tech industry. Computers technologies are involved in every sectors.Where ever you see like in Electronics, IT , Automobiles , Medical, Agriculture, Chemicals, Space technologies everywhere you will find computer machines hence software and hence programming also.  So in this post I am gonna tell you about some interesting facts that you should know if you are keen interested in this field/technology.

Inventors of Popular Programming Langauges

Lets see who are the inventors of one of the most popular & used programming languages in the world.

1) Dennis Ritchie : Dennis MacAlistair Ritchie was an American computer scientist. He created the C programming language and, with long-time colleague Ken Thompson, the Unix operating system and B programming language. He is called as father of C programming language. C language is one of the oldest programming language which is still used and so popular. In 1978, Dennis released the very first edition of C language to the world.

2) Bjarne Stroustrup : After C programming language,  C++ (Pronounced as C plus plus), language is one of the most loved programming language by programmers around the world & still used. developed by Bjarne Stroustrup & first appeared in 1985

3) Anders HejlsbergHejlsberg is C#'s principal designer and lead architect at Microsoft. It pronounced as C Sharp, The first release of C# was introduced to world in  2000

4) James Gosling : James Arthur Gosling, often referred to as "Dr. Java", James is a Canadian computer scientist, best known as the founder and lead designer behind the Java programming language . Java was developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which has since been acquired by Oracle) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform.

5) Brendan Eich : Brendan Eich is an American technologist and creator of the JavaScript programming language. He co-founded the Mozilla project, the Mozilla Foundation and the Mozilla Corporation, and served as the Mozilla Corporation's chief technical officer and briefly, as its chief executive office. JS was first released on March 1996.

He co-authored and inspired the PHP scripting language, authoring the first two versions of the language and participating in the development of later versions led by a group of developers. PHP language was first released on 1995.

7) Yukihiro Matsumoto : Yukihiro Matsumoto, also known as Matz, is a Japanese computer scientist and software programmer best known as the chief designer of the Ruby programming language.RUBY was first released on 1995.

8) Guido van Rossum : He is a Dutch programmer best known as the creator of the Python programming language, for which he was the "Benevolent dictator for life" (BDFL) until he stepped down from the position in July 2018. Python was first released on February 20, 1991.

11) Robert Gentleman : Robert Clifford Gentleman is a Canadian statistician and bioinformatician currently vice president of computational biology at 23andMe. He is recognized, along with Ross Ihaka, as one of the originators of the R programming language which was first introduced on August 1993.

12) Raymond & Donald D : They are  developers of SQL query language. Donald D. Chamberlin & Raymond Boyce both are an American computer scientist. Where Donald is best known as one of the principal designers of the original SQL language &  significant contributions to the development of XQuery. In other hand Raymond Boyce is best known for his work co-developing the SQL database language and Boyce-Codd normal form. SQL was first introduced on 1974.

Programming Languages Purposes

Every programming language is designed for a special purpose.  Some are used to develop web application other are used to develop core computer components, & some are used to develop platform specific  software.  Below I have mentioned the purposes of some popular programming language in front of their names.

List of Top Programming Language for August 2020

A programming language is all about programming design. Different programmer may prefer different programming languages for a program. One can not say about a particular language is best for a particular program. Every programming language has its own pros & cons. Still some programming languages are so popular that every programmer prefer it over any other. Look below list of top programming language indexed by pypl

But you cant say that these are the exact list. Actually different platform index these data on different different aspects like searching , interests, uses, skills etc. So you cant trust these list blindly. Here is another list of most popular programming languages by stackoverflow for Programming, Scripting, and Markup Language.

See ! How dramatically the indexing list changed.

Below is another indexing, based on most searched programming languages in search engines by tiobe
